It may seem by what has been hitherto said, that this testimony is not to be found in the Greek manuscripts. Epanorthotes, whom Lucas Brugensis describes to be an ancient, accurate, full, and industrious collator of manuscripts, found it wanting in all those he met with. "Epanorthotes," saith Lucas, "deesse haec eadem Graecis libris, et antiquis Latinis annotat."

Μπορεί να γίνει φανερό απ' ό,τι έχει λεχθεί ως εδώ ότι η μαρτυρία αυτή δεν εντοπίζεται στα ελληνικά χειρόγραφα. Ο Επανορθωτής, τον οποίο ο Lucas Brugensis περιγράφει ότι είναι μια αρχαία, ακριβής, πλήρης και επίπονη συλλογή χειρογράφων, καταλήγει ότι απουσιάζει από όλα [ενν. τα ελληνικά χειρόγραφα] όσα εξέτασε. «Ο Επανορθωτής», λέει ο Lucas, «σημειώνει ότι απουσιάζουν τα ίδια πράγματα τόσο στα ελληνικά βιβλία όσο και στα αρχαία λατινικά».
